HUSH THE NOISE INSIDE YOUR HEAD

Just for a moment practice brining your thoughts to a standstill. Hush the noise inside your head, silence the constant chatter and listen for peace; your soul will surely be soothed.

The thinking mind is a complicated thing. It truly believes that it works hard to support us and guide us on our life’s path in the best most supportive manner. Sometimes it does and sometimes it sadly doesn’t. While well intended it’s direction is not always of value. The problem with our thinking mind is that everything presented to us is done so from a fairly narrow perspective. A perspective built merely on our own experiences that may or may not have served us. From these experiences we store and catalogue volumes of personal narratives that before long guide and direct most everything we do, a lot of what we say, designing how we should feel and to some extent how and when we suffer.

In prayer or meditation a quiet focused mind brings pure awareness to our consciousness. It takes wholehearted dedication and discipline to silence the thinking mind and quiet the constant churning of thoughts. When the mind is calm and sufficiently relaxed it is then that the stirring of thoughts lessens and mental peace begins to surface. Tranquility, stillness and inner peace open up the world all around us and we begin to see everything more clearly because it is seen from the seat of our sweet soul. It is from this seat that a deeper understanding of who we are develops and with that personal suffering truly begins to diminish.

Just for a moment practice brining your thoughts to a standstill. Hush the noise inside your head, silence the constant chatter and listen for peace; your soul will surely be soothed.
